Best wishes to you on this day; I hope that you, your family, your friends, and all those around you are safe and sound despite these hard times in Japan right now.
Meanwhile on the other side of the world...
Tonight was probably my most-favorite Pit Orchestra night ever. Beauty and the Beast was just so different from all the other shows that I've done. The music was good, the singers were awesome, the actors/actresses were well-casted, Pit was allowed to climb out of our dungeon [the pit] after Bows and we got to present our director with a little-something from us. I don't think I'll ever forget that gigantic Nintendo DS card we made & signed for him! [We also had to put the pit-cover back on. Now THAT is not something that you get to do everyday.]
But Mr. O, wherever you are, whatever you do, however much you get frustrated at us because we can't play our music, play in tune, count measures of rests, watch for your cues, or come in at the right time, I hope you know deep down on the inside that we ALL think that you are absolutely AMAZING!
I will never forget those times during practice when you would get the cast all pumped up about singing their lines; I think that it gets us all pumped up too, and it feels awesome!
My past three-and-a-half years of orchestra was a blast all thanks to you, and my three years of Pit Orchestra is full of fun-filled memories that I will never forget. Thank you for the opportunity to play in the pit/with the pit/with the play; although it was hard and tiring along the way, everytime I think back on it, I can't help but smile at all the happy memories that came along with it.
Thank you!
